Free ABRSM Music Theory Practice — Grades 1 to 5

Welcome to the Cornucopia Theory Lab, a free interactive tool for practising ABRSM music theory from Grade 1 to Grade 5. Work through note reading on the treble and bass clefs, major and minor scales, the circle of fifths, ear training, short theory quizzes, and a simple composing exercise — each one giving you the correct answer with a clear explanation as you go. It’s built and maintained by Cornucopia Music Academy, an ABRSM-affiliated music school in Bangalore.

“What you can practise”

  • Note reading on the treble and bass clefs, including ledger lines

  • Major, harmonic-minor and melodic-minor scales on a playable keyboard

  • The circle of fifths — sharps, flats and relative major/minor keys

  • Ear training: higher or lower, intervals, and major vs minor

  • Theory quizzes — rhythm, time signatures, intervals, triads, cadences, ornaments and Italian terms

  • Composing your own short melody in a chosen key and time signature
